Education

The art education department invites you to actively experience the exhibitions in the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum and in Haus Lange and Haus Esters: sensually, creatively, critically and dedicatedly.

The offerings available from the art education department are especially targeted to all visitors: families, children, adolescents, adults and people with disabilities. You are welcome to observe art, to consider and talk about art and even to work artistically yourself.

Visit the rooms of the art education department on the ground floor of the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, take active part in weekend workshops, at guided tours for families, at KunstImPuls events or at our various holiday offerings.

UtopiaLab for the exhibition Visionary Spaces. Walter Pichler Meets Friedrich Kiesler in a Display by raumlaborberlin

Coming soon 22.11.2024 – 30.03.2025

The Kunstmuseen Krefeld are using the main exhibition at the KWM as an opportunity for a special project in the Studio2/KreativLabor: this time, the exhibition Visionary Spaces. Walter Pichler Meets Frederick Kiesler in a Display by raumlaborberlin. The art and architecture collective raumlaborberlin creates the exhibition display for the main exhibition on the 2nd floor as well as the UtopiaLab conceived for the exhibition in Studio 2 on the 1st floor of the KWM. At the interface between sculpture and architecture, a hybrid structure will be created throughout the exhibition period through the activity of the visitors, which will also extend beyond Studio 2 into the museum’s stairhall. The UtopiaLab will become a workshop in which used materials such as metal coat hangers and textile remnants from industry will be used to create tubular modules that make direct reference to the human body and its proportions. The modules are also adapters in the way that they can be connected to the preceding and following pieces. The result is a large collective work with a positive, societal utopian radiance.
