K + Café im KWM, or simply “K +
Over 400 suggestions were received after our call. We would like to thank all senders for their creative ideas!
The jury finally combined two suggestions for a unique name: The letter “K” together with “Café Plus” resulted in the formula: K +. The plus, graphically simply as a sign “+”, emphasizes the open concept as a characteristic of the place that goes beyond a simple café: it is an exhibition in itself, the great flexibility of the room design and the variety of future users.
It is named after suggestions by three women living Krefeld: Barbara Beier, Susanne Till and Sylvia Weißenborn. Barbara Beier created the name “Café Plus”. Susanne Till suggested "K3: Kunst-Kaffee-Krefeld". Sylvia Weißenborn found the title “K im KWM”; for them the "K" stands for the words "Krefeld, art, culture, conference, creativity and Kaffee / café".
The director of the Kunstmuseen Krefeld Katia Baudin and the designer Robert Stadler present the design for the new museum café.
