Short Stories for Haus Lange Haus Esters is the first site-specific literature on the Krefeld Bauhaus villas.
For decades, artists have repeatedly dealt with Haus Lange and Haus Esters in exhibitions. Now the Kunstmuseen Krefeld have invited three authors to realize site-specific literature for the first time. Marion Brasch, Matias Faldbakken and Mark von Schlegell have created three gripping short stories that fill the historic houses with life in very different ways. Since the originally planned author's reading had to be canceled, the book launch takes place online.

The beautiful villas of Haus Lange and Haus Esters are distinguished by their modern architectural style of the 1920s, their many rooms, charming character, the lovely garden and garden cottage. They also serve as the backdrop to three short stories. The writer and radio journalist Marion Brasch (born 1961, Berlin/GDR), the artist and author Matias Faldbakken (born 1973, Hobro, Denmark) and the author and art critic Mark von Schlegel (born 1967, New York/USA) offer a new literary perspective on these two buildings designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The result is essentially the first-ever, site-specific literature in the form of three short stories.
Short Stories represents the fourth Collection Satellite – a project series, in which the Kunstmuseen Krefeld invites artists twice a year to engage in dialogue with its collection and the museum.
The Stiftung Kunst, Kultur und Soziales der Sparda-Bank West is partner of the Collection Satellit series.
